Galib is poet of all times - Bashir

Great Urdu poet Padmashri Bashir Badr said here today that 'Galib was a poet of all times, of bygone era, the present era and of the future generations too. If any grandfather is finding pleasure in poems of Galib today, his grand children too are enjoying the same. It is the greatness of Galib that he was a poet of the future also and his popularity would keep increasing in coming generations.'
Bashir Badr was speaking at a programme - 'Ek Shaam Galib Ke Naam' organised by the MP Urdu Academy on Tuesday. According to Professor Nashir Naqvi of Patiala, Galib was not only a poet of Urdu but also of all Indian languages.
Urdu Academy Secretary Nusrat Mehandi termed Galib as 'Babaye Shayari' and said that his poems are inspiration to all students. Nasim Ansari read a poem on Galib and said that like Galib there are great poets in our time too but they would be remembered after their death.
Urdu Academy vice chairman Mirza Jaffar Beig said that a few days ago the academy had organised 'Sham-e-Gazal' about Galib. This is such second evening. He thanked the people to attend in large number. Several famous Urdu poets including Nasim Parwaz, Shabir Adib, Muzaffar Talib, Dr Shahid Mir, Parveen Saba, Safia Rag Alvi and Ahsan Warsi Atahar from Vidisha attended the programme and read their poems praising Galib.
